I am the founder and lead landscape designer at Williston Horticulture and Design. I have over a decade of experience working in the landscaping field, as well as a degree in Sustainable Landscape Horticulture and Design from the University of Vermont.

Throughout my time in the landscaping industry, I was always bothered by the lack of consideration that contractors had for the health of the landscape. Plant selections were often made by process of elimination: what is cheap, what is colorful, what is available. When I design a landscape, I prioritize the plant selection and consider each plant’s purpose and function within the space. Placement is determined by where it will thrive, and where it can support the health of adjacent plants and the landscape as a whole. This process emphasizes the critical relationship between the art of design and the science of horticulture.

My goal is to design landscapes that are not only purposeful, but functional. By incorporating designs that are driven by horticultural science this will create healthier, more harmonious and naturally evolving landscapes.
